I am considering both tractors and was curious about the price I was quoted:
3130 $20,000
3830 $22,00

Both 4wd; hst; 723 loader.

Also, any comments on the two units given the following use:
Approx. 4 acres of finish mowing...I use a rear mower;
Approx 10 acres of field mowing several time a year;
Light to modest loader usage including snow plowing.

Is the 3130 adequate for above types of use?

My dealer recommended 72" woods rotary and finish mowers.

Thanks.Tim

The advatage of one to the other is strickly horsepower to me. Any way you look at the units they are nearly identical, about the same weight so the ability to pull is about the same, for the driveshaft you would notice the difference in the horsepower. But then why not a 3430? ....

Go for the 3830. The bigger the better. Its more horsepower. Tractor size roughly the same. You never know what you will need more power for. I have a 4330 and wish I would have went for the 5030 for 3 thousand more.

Good luck. ....
